Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 May 2026.

This privacy notice explains how Ely Hampers handles personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It is intentionally short — we are a small business and we collect very little data.

Who we are

Ely Hampers is a husband-and-wife catering business based at Unit 4 Century Park, Chettisham, Ely CB6 1SA. We are the data controller for the personal data you give us.

What personal data we collect

  • Enquiry data — your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the date of your event and the message you send us through the contact form, by email, by phone or via WhatsApp.
  • Order data — delivery address, dietary information you tell us about, and (where applicable) the gift card message you'd like us to write.
  • Site analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and collects only aggregate, anonymised information about visits to this site (page views, country, referrer). It does not identify you and does not set cookies.

Our lawful basis for processing

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the catering or hampers you have ordered.
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries you send us, to keep records of orders for our accounts, and to improve this website.
  • Consent — for any future marketing email we might send you (none today). You can withdraw consent at any time.

How we use your data

Only to reply to your enquiry, fulfil your order, and keep our financial records. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it with marketing networks. We do share order details with HMRC where required by law.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry messages are kept for up to 12 months in case you come back to us. Order and invoice records are kept for at least 6 years to meet HMRC requirements. We delete data sooner on request, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and move the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please email or WhatsApp us using the details below.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
